First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! In the past year YOU have all made our community into the warm and fuzzy family it is, our home away from home; wish you all the best in the coming 2011, and many happy returns!!
Now that we are done with 2/3 of the winter vacation (stop crying), and pretty much rehabilitated ourselves to fit our leisurely environments, I must now step up as the devil's advocate, and extend my sincere requests for a small favor from everybody~
Actually, I meant two favors.
1. In the coming semester we shall witness another Chinese New Year at Yale, and a whole set of exciting experiences associated with the Spring festival. Two Years ago, the CUSY members in their time had set up a wonderful tradition that we wish our own generation can revive:

Yes! It is exactly what it looks like! But what are we selling?
----That is where everyone comes into the picture: remember the small shops in your hometown that you considered very "cultural"? And the miscellaneous trinkets that you came across when cruising the shops and the malls, that gave off a strong "Chinese" scent? Those are exactly what we want on our tables! Anything from artwork to books, from hand-crafted playthings to traditional Chinese clothing would serve our purpose--just put yourself in the shoes of an American college kid who could be motivated to purchase our Chinese culture products, and use your imagination! The more the merrier; I promise it would be a wonderful experience both for ourselves and our friends at Yale! The proceeds we raise will help the board organize more significant events such as the CUSY hotpot nights, freshmen reception dinners, senior farewell dinners, and much, much more! Any of the smallest contribution from you would be invaluable for our CUSY family!
2. Do you recall the the epic video “CUSY欢迎你” from last year? For both current and future generation of CUSYers, this footage, as well as others that we could manage to leave behind, will be invaluable records for our times at Yale, and relics of our would-be beautiful memories of the past--not to invoke melancholy, but relive the most savory and unique period of our youth. As someone who has a short film about his high school classmates on his computer, I can guarantee you how these things can become unutterably special and delightful. And to this end, I ask all of you to help us accumulate these resources by
Documenting your life during the vacation, and scenes from your hometowns and your home schools
Preferably, take short videos and upload them to your computer; if equipments are not readily available, heart-felt photos would also be excellent. After spring semester commences, anyone who claims any resources of the sort are more than welcome to summon me at your bidding and have me copy those files over; by the end of this academic year you will be able to witness a synchronized result of all your contributions, and see for yourself how small efforts from individuals can achieve breath-taking creations on a collective scale.
In conclusion, please don't let the merry season become fleeting memories to be dwelt on later, but make something out of it that could have us enjoying the experiences in the long run, over and over again! And once more, please accept my most sincerest gratitude, and----
